Job Description

Position Overview:

The Storekeeping Associate will be responsible for managing inventory, organizing stock, and ensuring the accurate and timely handling of products within the store or warehouse. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock. Ensure that all items are properly labeled, stored, and organized to facilitate easy retrieval and accurate inventory tracking.
  • Stock Control: Monitor inventory levels and assist in the preparation of stock orders to prevent shortages. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and inventory records.
  • Order Fulfillment: Prepare and pack orders for distribution or sale. Ensure that all orders are accurate, complete, and shipped on time.
  • Storage Organization: Maintain a clean and organized store or warehouse environment. Implement and adhere to storage practices to maximize space utilization and ensure the safety of products.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and adjustments. Assist in generating inventory reports as required.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to management.
  • Customer Service: Provide assistance to internal teams and, if applicable, external customers regarding inventory-related inquiries and issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient operations and effective communication within the store or warehouse.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or inventory management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a storekeeping, inventory management, or related role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving stock.
  • Basic proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
